Joseph Ambrose Jr.

THOMASTON: Joseph "Joe" Anthony Ambrose Jr., age 68 of Seymour, CT, passed away on Saturday, December 13th, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Haven, CT on August 1, 1957, he was the son of the late Joseph Ambrose Sr. And Ruth Maturo Ambrose.

Joe loved his family, friends and music, and loved most of all when he could bring those three things together. He attended a number of concerts to see some of the all-time rock and roll greats, like the Rolling Stones, the Who and the Kinks, including the Summer Jam at Watkins Glenn, NY in 1973. He studied briefly to become a pharmacist but ultimately took a job as a delivery driver for UPS for over 30 years where he was well liked by everyone he met. He loved driving a fast, sporty car. Two of his favorites being the Alfa Romeo and BMW 2002tii that he owned and drove earlier in his life. He was smart and chatty and would talk on the phone for hours. He was detail oriented and organized, ensuring everything was always in the proper place.

Survivors include his beloved sisters, Ruth Ambrose of OR and Kathy Ambrose of NC; his loving children, Jeremiah Ambrose, and his wife Kristen of MA, Jeff Ambrose, and his wife Stasia of MA, Marcus Oates of NY, Jordan Oates of FL, and Catalina Fleming of CT; and four grandchildren, Joshua Ambrose, Jameson Ambrose, Ethan Ambrose and Charlotte Ambrose.

The family will be holding a memorial service on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 3pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Relatives and friends can greet the family from 1pm until the time of services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
