Joseph Joe Balthrop

Joseph (Joe) Michael Balthrop, age 76 of Nashville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Alive Hospice.
Joseph was born on February 13, 1949, in Montgomery Co., TN, to the late Ray T. Balthrop Sr. and Willie Mae Balthrop. Joseph is preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Balthrop and brother Ray Balthrop. He is survived by his daughter, Heather McKissack; Son In Law, Craig McKissack; Sister, Becky Balthrop; and grandchildren, Dakotah Carson, Emma McKissack and Madison McKissack. Joe graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville where he played his beloved sport, football. His legacy was a proud one, as a UT Vol. He spent most of his years as an entrepreneur opening restaurants & bars, beginning with Joe B's, his namesake. Joe's true passion was his love for antiques where he collected and sold them over the course of his life.
A celebration of life in Joseph's honor will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 12 pm until the hour of service at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home.
