Waynesboro, GA- Joseph Colton Bartlett, 60, went peacefully to be with his Father and the ones he so very much loved that went before him on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at his home. He was born on December 29, 1963, in Burke County to the late Dewey Colton Bartlett & Myrtle Ellen James Bartlett. For years, he worked alongside his father in ceramic tile and stucco for Bartlett Tile Company. He was quite the perfectionist in his trade. He drove for Schneider Trucking Company and Plant Vogtle. Joe was a strong believer in his faith in God and he was found many Sundays watching church on TV. He was an avid deer hunter, with many great trophies, loved fishing, and gardening. His vegetables, especially his tomatoes, were truly outstanding & mouthwatering. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 18 year old son, Dillon Colton Bartlett; his two sisters-in-law, Nell Bartlett and Susan Bartlett; and his two great great nieces, Addalyn and Brooklyn.
He is survived by his four siblings, Thomas Bartlett (Billie Joe) of Hephzibah, David Bartlett (Julie) of Waynesboro, Debra DeLaigle (Bobby) of Waynesboro, and Ellen Pauline Stewart (Andy) of Hephzibah; ten nieces and nephews, Paulette Leonard, Chastity Sparks, Jennifer Chambers, Shannon Bartlett, Warren Bartlett (Missy), Daniel Bartlett, Mandi Ellen Hannah (Robbie), Teresa Johnson (Chandler), Macy Weis (Joe), and Geena Beyersdoerfer (Alexander); many great nieces and nephews; two aunts, Wanda Shelly and Dorothy "Dot" Thomas; second mother, Raydene Posey; and too many best friends to name.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, November 27 in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Shane Padgett officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Active Pallbearers will be Keith Sikes, Nicky DeLaigle, Jerry James, Dewey Ellison, Brent Smith, Don "Red Bird" Redd, Jay Stewart, and Merle James.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryan McKinnon, Kevin Meyers, and WG Bartlett.
Friends are welcome to come join the family for a social gathering for stories & laughs at the Stewart Home after the service, 244 Deer Run Road, Hephzibah, GA 30816
