Joseph John Beck Sr.

Joseph John Beck, 70, of Thorofare, formerly of Fairview, passed away peacefully at his home in Thorofare, New Jersey, on October 19, 2025. Born on January 23, 1955, in Camden, New Jersey to the late Jack and Dolores Beck.
Joe honorably and proudly served in the United States Marines from 1974 to 1978, a period of his life that shaped much of his character and instilled in him a profound sense of duty and resilience. After his service, Joe embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a roaster at Melitta Coffee, where he was a respected colleague for 30 years until his retirement in 2022.
A life member of the VFW Post 3620, Joe's involvement with the Veterans of Foreign Wars reflected his deep connection to fellow servicemen and women and his desire to contribute to the welfare of veterans within his community.
Joe's passion for life extended to his love of sports. He was an avid fan of Philadelphia's sports teams, with a particular fondness for the Eagles and Phillies. Win or lose, Joe's enthusiasm for his teams was infectious, and he cherished the camaraderie and excitement that came with each game.
Perhaps Joe's most cherished pastime was playing the lottery, a hobby that brought him both excitement and hope. He approached each draw with optimism, always ready for the possibility of a lucky break. But beyond any game or hobby, Joe's heart truly belonged to his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Joseph is survived by his loving children, Joseph John Beck, Jr. and Crissie Beyer (Justin); his grandchildren, Tyler (Katie), Austin, Hailey, Gabe, Colin, Sofia, and Wyatt; his brothers, Jack Beck and Thomas Beck (Helena); and his sister, Sharon Previtera (Steve).
A graveside service will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery 350 Provinceline Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562 on Tuesday, October 28th at 2:00 PM for his family.
