He is survived by his sons, Ray Billiot (Penny) and Kelly Billiot (Anita); daughters, Symeca Friedman, Joel Crochet (Timmy), and Vickie Verret (Ronald); brother, Morris; sisters, Virginia, Doris, Zoeanna, Margaret, and Agnes;grandchildren, Jessica, Rayann, Tisha, Sadie,Derek, Chelsea,Sierra, Alyssa, Nikki, T.J.,and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Caleb,River, Breanna, Maddie, Katelyn, Payton, Paxton, Jason, Jestin, Jilleen, Liam, Chandler, Gracelyn, Rylan, Alivia, Tre, Ryder, Kendall,Silas, Owen, Graelyn,Baby Verret, Step Great grandchildren Avary, Conor, Keslynn, Mia, and great-great-grandchild, Skylynn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "T-May" Billiot; parents, Antoine and Eunice Lacabon Billiot; son, Carl Davis Billiot; son-in-law, Robert Friedman; daughters-in-law, Katri Billiot and Michelle Billiot; sisters, Betty, Thelma, and Eunice; grandchildren, Kelly Billiot Jr., Scott Verret, and Joshua Verret; and great-grandchildren, Candice Hope and Junien Crochet.
Joseph was a loving husband to late Mary "T-May" and lived a remarkable life of a husband, loving father, son, brother, uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, cousin, friend and acquaintance. Joe Billiot was loved and adored by many. He was kind, caring, compassionate, generous, humorous and loving. Humor was important to him. He loved making jokes and seeing others laugh. He smiled a lot despite life challenges. He was a long time fisherman who always loved talking about getting his boat to go shrimping. Though he has been taken from his family too soon, he still lives in their memories and the love they shared.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, 635 Bayou Blue Rd., Houma, Louisiana from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Samart Funeral Home (Bayou Blue) from 10:00 AM until the Religious Service at 12:00 PM. The burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery, Houma, Louisiana.
