Joseph P. Bohar

1930 - 2023

Joseph P. Bohar, 93 of Walnutport, PA, passed away June 7, 2023, at his residence in Walnutport, PA. Born March 10, 1930, in Cementon, PA. He was the son of the late Frank and the late Anna (Pesta) Bohar. He was the husband of Sallie (Graumenz) Bohar, who he shared 59 years of marriage.

Joseph served as a Pvt in the Army, before being honorably discharged in 1950. Once returning from the Army, he worked at Western and Bethlehem Steel, both for a short time. He then went to work at Mack Truck where he was an electrician for 32 years. In his free time Joseph enjoyed hunting, and golfing, he was also a life member of the Hokey American Legion, Post 739.

Survivors: sons, Joseph G. Bohar and wife Janet of Allentown PA, Gregory P. Bohar and wife Roseann of FL, and Craig J. Bohar and wife Cheri of Whitehall PA, daughters, Laurie Ehrlacher and husband Leo of Allentown PA, and Robin Sperlbaum of Walnutport, PA, sister Maryann Nemchick of Bethlehem PA, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday June 12, 2023 at Schisler Funeral Home. 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA, 18067, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 AM until time of the service. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Cemetery, Whitehall PA.
