Joseph R. Boni Jr.

Joseph R. Boni Jr., age 88, of Fairview, passed away on Thursday May 8, 2025, at Pleasant Ridge Manor. He was born in Erie on November 20, 1936, son of the late, Joseph R. and Nancy (Chicetti) Boni Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Schlosser; two brothers, Vincent and Anthony Boni and one sister Angeline Schneider.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a US Army Reserves Retiree, totaling 27 years of service to his country. He worked for Pleasant Ridge Manor as a supervisor and retired after many years of service. He loved to paint and draw and was an avid golfer, he shared his talents and knowledge as a golfing instructor for under privileged individuals and the blind. Joe was a fun-loving guy; he believed that throughout life you should be kind and nice to people. His most treasured memories were getting married and welcoming their first child. Joe believes the best days of his life were spent serving in the military, he enjoyed his role in leadership and considered training people one of the most important things he ever did. His advice for future generations is "invest your money wisley".
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol (Courtney) Boni; one son, Joseph R. Boni III (Jacquline); two granddaughters, Erika and Kirstin Boni; son-in-law, Jeffrey Schlosser; sisters-in-law, Patricia Modzelewski (the late Chet Modzelewski) and Cheryl Bates; brother-in-law, Paul Bates; nephews and niece, Patrick Modzelewski, Christopher and Eric Bates and the late Pam Modzelewski-Conlan. He is further survived by his special friends and members of the "magnificent foursome" (golfing buddies), Peter Bates and Jim and AJ Stubenhofer.
Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of family.
