Joseph Brumfield Obituary

1957-2025
Joseph Brumfield, affectionately known as "Catfish Joe", age 68 of Catlettsburg, Ky, passed gently away at Community Hospice on September 11, 2025. He was born June 12, 1957, the blessing of the late Charles and Earnestine Castle Brumfield. Joe was a graduate of Boyd County High School and made a living as a Union Carpenter. Joe found peace outdoors on the water. He loved to boat and fish, but most of all he loved to spoil his grandkids. Joe never came around that he didn't have a special goody bag for them.
Joe was a father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed greatly.
Joe leaves behind his children, and grandchildren, sisters Deborah Meeks and Tina Brumfield, and many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his late parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brothers Gentry Smith Dennie Brumfield, and David "Bear" Brumfield.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Catlettsburg Cemetery, beginning at 10:00am.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans at help.DAV.org.
