Joseph Ryan Burel

Ryan Burel, who graced this world with his presence on July 28, 1978, in Snellville, Georgia, had set sail for the great beyond on December 26, 2024, at the age of 46. His final port of call was Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he left us all wondering how to navigate life without his wit and wisdom.
Ryan's journey through life was nothing short of an exceptional journey. After graduating high school, he joined the US Navy and spent nearly 20 years charting courses and steering LCAC's as a Quartermaster Chief Petty Officer. He ended his career with a treasure trove of stories and a compass that always pointed to new horizons.
A true sports enthusiast, Ryan could often be found perfecting his golf swing or shooting hoops with his shipmates. His heart, however, belonged to the Georgia Bulldogs, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer them on with his daughter, Haylee.
Ryan, having grown up Baptist, carried those values with him throughout his life. He was kind, smart, and perpetually curious, always eager to learn something new. His greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Haylee Burel, who resides in California. She was the star in his sky, and he never missed an opportunity to brag about her accomplishments.
Ryan is survived by his beloved daughter, Haylee; his parents, Robin Kane and Duane Burel; his sister, Kristy Burel and his uncle, Kent Burel. They, along with countless friends and shipmates, will miss his infectious laughter and steadfast loyalty.
