Joseph Cacciabaudo, a lifelong resident of Hamilton, New Jersey passed away on May 1, 2025, at Penn Medicine Princeton surrounded by family and friends, after an 11 month battle with cancer. A devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend, Joe was a proud New York Yankees fan and avid minor league baseball fan who enjoyed traveling to major and minor league baseball parks across the country. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his big voice and big heart will be missed by all who knew him.
Born on February 4, 1957, Joe was a graduate of Steinert High School, class of 1975. He received his Associates degree from Mercer County Community College, Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Trenton State College, and a Master's degree in Athletic Training from Western Michigan. Joe took pride in his 40 year career as an athletic trainer, a role that combined his love of sports and his dedication to helping young athletes be their best. He retired from the Newark Public School System in 2023 and was awarded the National Athletic Trainer District 2 High School Athletic Trainer of the year award in 2020. Joe was a volunteer member of the medical staff of the New Jersey Special Olympics Summer games for over 20 years and the USA Special Games held in New Jersey in 2014. He was also a member of both the NJ Lacrosse and Wrestling officials organizations for over 25 years.
Son of the late Vincent and Angelene Cacciabaudo, and brother James Cacciabaudo, Joe is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Angela (Greer) Cacciabaudo, his son and daughter-in-law Dr. Vincent Cacciabaudo (Alexis) of Las Vegas, Nevada, his brother Robert (Shelly) Cacciabaudo, his sister-in-laws Cindy (Dan) Lehr, Nettie (Al White), and Sharon Cacciabaudo (Charles Leeder), his Aunt and Uncle Robert and Donna Mucciarelli his Aunts Frances Rigel and Victoria Caravallo, many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation services from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, May 12, 2025 at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 11:00 at the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, 3800 E. State St. Ext., Hamilton, NJ
