Joseph E. Cicatella, 84, of Centerville, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, after a sudden illness.
Joe was born in Titusville on February 8, 1941, to the late Charles J. and Amelia K. Wagner Cicatella. He married Rose Brooks on October 21, 1961, at St. Ann's Church in Arlington, VA. She preceded him in death on August 5, 2016.
Joe was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 1959.
He was a veteran who had served in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Meyer, VA. While serving, he received a Good Conduct Medal and marched in the presidential inaugural parade for President John F. Kennedy. He was honorably discharged in 1962.
After his discharge, Joe managed several retail stores in Arlington, Virginia, before moving back to Titusville, where he worked for Farley's Industrial Services. His greatest joy was owning and operating Buells Corners Store with his wife, which they bought in 1980.
He was a member of St. Walburga and later St. Titus Church.
Joe enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, going to the ocean, and trap shooting. He was a dedicated family man and businessman who was always there for both.
Joe is survived by three daughters, Christine Cicatella of Titusville, Vicki Henton and husband Mike of Spartansburg, Angela Anderson of Titusville; seven grandchildren, Crystal Cicatella, Joshua Weidner and wife Amy, Kevin Henton, Kalvin Henton and companion Amber Glontz, Karl Henton and wife Jillian, Billy Anderson, Rose Anderson; and 5 great-grandchildren, Brady, and Lily Cicatella, Caiden, Anthony, and Frankie Weidner, Ella and Scarlett Henton, Quinn Henton, and Jacob and Lucas Glontz; and many close friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Allie Mae Henton, and his aunt, Angela Ceresia.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. on Monday, November 17th from 4 to 7 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Tuesday at St. Titus Church at 10 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Hoffman, officiating.
Interment will be at St. Catharines Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Stephen's School, 214 Reed St, Oil City, PA 16301, or a charity of one's choice.
