Joseph Corso, 86, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was born December 3, 1938 in New Haven to Anthony and Anna (DeLucia) Corso. Joseph is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Jody Corso of East Haven and son, Anthony Corso (Naomi) of East Haddam along with three grandchildren he adored; Hannah Corso, Molly Corso (Josh) and Max Corso. Joseph is also survived by his brother, Anthony N. Corso (Roseanne) of Branford and several nephews and nieces; Alan Haroskewicz (Molly), Katherine Silby (Mark), Stephanie Zetye (Phil) and Michael Corso.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Judith "Judy" Corso (2015) and a sister, Anna Haroskewicz.
Joseph was from a hard-working, Italian American immigrant family, and was the first in his family to graduate high school. He entered the University of Connecticut at just 17 years old and began working on his Bachelor's Degree in science majoring in electrical engineering. He graduated with his Master's Degree in 1964 also from the University of Connecticut. Joseph worked almost exclusively for defense contractors first at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut and then the remainder of his career at Sikorsky aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut. During his work career, he had the opportunity to work with NASA in California, as well as other military contracts building test stands for rotor heads and blade machines in both Pensacola, Florida and Corpus Christi, Texas.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 5 at 11 a.m. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with Burial/Committal to follow at Alder Brook Cemetery in Guilford.
