Joseph A. "Al" Crispo, Jr., 88, of Westford, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital.
Al was the devoted husband of Dorothy M. Crispo, and a loving father to Joseph A. Crispo III and his wife Sharon of Woburn, MA, and Cristen D. Haskell and her husband George of Lowell, MA. He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Lucas, Morgan, and Alexander. Raised as one of their own, Mary-Ellen Schaefer, is the godchild of Al and Dorothy.
Born in Wilmington, MA, Al was the son of the late Joseph A. Crispo Sr. and Margaret (Travers) Crispo. He attended Wilmington Public Schools and later served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Cold War.
Al had a long and dedicated career with the railroad, retiring from Amtrak in 1998 after earlier work with the Boston & Maine Railroad. He also owned and operated a Chevron gas station in South Chelmsford, MA. Known for his sharp wit and warm sense of humor, Al brought laughter and kindness to those around him.
He was predeceased by his siblings Margaret Bubanas, Clair Troy, John Crispo, and Charlotte Masgula. He is survived by his sister Mona Chase and her husband Adrene of Tewksbury, MA, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lowell General Hospital for their compassionate care.

Joseph A. Crispo Jr., of Westford, MA died May 28, 2025. Visiting hours Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 1-4pm at DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, N. CHELMSFORD, MA. Funeral Monday, June 2, 2025, 11am at St. John the Evangelist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center.
