Joseph Charles Cruz

Joseph Charles Cruz, 77, of Fowlerville, Michigan passed away at his home surrounded by family on August 28, 2023. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Fowlerville United Bretheren Church, 9300 W. Grand River Ave., Fowlerville, MI 48836. Pastor Eric Griffon officiating. He was born on June 28, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles T. Cruz, and mother, Jane Cruz Robert. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Joey (Jenni) Cruz; daughter, Jodi (Gary) Dillard; grandchildren, Kelsey (William) Marshall, Corey Dillard, Kaci Cruz, Kalei Dillard, Josie Cruz, and Cody Cruz; great-grandson, Michael St. Charles; siblings, Charles (Grace) Cruz, Penny (Frank) Hagen, Tony (Pati) Cruz, and Dino Cruz. Joe proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran earning a bronze star. He was the owner of JC Tile Co. for 28 years, taking pride in every job he completed and passing the company down to his son, Joey. Joe was a loving and devoted husband, father, papa, and friend. He loved his country, was a wise man of many trades with the ability to fix anything, and taught life's biggest lessons to many. His ability to sacrifice, support, and love will be forever ingrained in his family and all that knew him.
