Joseph Delfino Obituary

Joe was born on May 3, 1949, in Waltham, Massachusetts. He was raised there and attended school before serving four years in the military during the Vietnam War. After his service, Joe worked as an electrician at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia, for 41 years before retiring.
He is predeceased by his father, mother, brother Peter Delfino, and son William "Billy" Delfino. Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Christel Delfino; his brothers, Michael Delfino and Richard Delfino; and his children, Sherry Lockwood and her husband Roy Lockwood, Kevin Delfino, and Joseph P. Delfino. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Joe cherished spending time with his family and enjoyed watching his favorite TV shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and the truth, no matter the challenge. His wisdom, kindness, and dedication will be remembered by all who know him.
Joe was a beloved father, husband, and friend, and he will be deeply missed. All will cherish his memory.
Friends and family will remember and honor Joseph at the Magni Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St, Newton on Friday, August 9 from 10-11:30AM. Interment and graveside prayers at Newton Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's name may be made to the Autism Society of Tidewater Virginia, 3509 VA Beach Blvd Virginia Beach, VA 23452.

Joe is very well missed by myself and many of his Norfolk Naval Shipyard coworkers (family). We all shared many wonderful memories of him. I find myself often thinking about Joe,he was a very inspiring gentleman.

Saddened to see of Joe's passing. Many years have passed but remembered working alongside him when he was supporting our shipboard testing at the Navy Yard. Didn't know him all that well but seemed to be nice, quiet, confident and skilled electrician. Praying for God's peace and comfort during this time of sorrow.
