Joseph "Joe" Demko, age 94, of Chardon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025. Born on February 10, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Anna (nee: Zoufalik) Demko. Joe lived a life marked by deep devotion to family, service to his country, and a joyful embrace of life's many adventures.

Joe's early years were spent between the city of Cleveland and the family farm in East Claridon, where he developed a strong work ethic and love for the outdoors. He graduated from Glenville High School and later earned a Bachelor of Business degree from Dyke College.

In 1952, Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return, he found not only peace but also love - meeting and marrying the love of his life, Jean Suchy, in 1954. This year, they celebrated 70 wonderful years of marriage - a true testament to their enduring love and partnership.

Joe and Jean raised their family in Claridon, where their home on Kile Road was often filled with laughter, friends, and the happy chaos of children, teens, and family gatherings. Joe was an enthusiastic supporter of his children's activities at Berkshire High School and rarely missed a game or event.

An avid traveler, Joe introduced his children to the beauty of America with summer camping trips across all 50 states and into Canada. Professionally, he worked for many years with Best Foods Company, part of Unilever, serving as Ohio Division Sales Manager before retiring in 1993.

Retirement brought new adventures. Joe and Jean moved to Marblehead, Ohio, where they enjoyed cruising and fishing on Joe's beloved boat, the Silver Annie. Joe found camaraderie and joy as a proud member of the Port Clinton Power Squadron and Oak Hill Golf Club. For 22 years Joe and Jean's winters were spent in the warmth of Sandpiper Key in Englewood, Florida, where he enjoyed endless rounds of golf and friendships that lasted decades.

Joe was a natural "people person" with a gift for bringing others together. He especially loved organizing golf tournaments, whether among friends at Sandpiper Key or with his family, where the tradition of the Demko Family Golf Tournament-begun in 1998-remains a cherished legacy.

Joe lived a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. His memory will be carried on with deep affection by his wife Jean and their children: Laura Klingensmith, Tom (Kim), Robert (Karen), and Lynne Jones (Kris); his grandchildren: Rick, Sami, Michael, Alex, Maggie, Hannah, Riana, Amber, and Cassie; and his great-grandchildren: Jaiden, Jarett, Faye, Mia, and Ana.

In honor of Joe's wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held.

Arrangements are entrusted to Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.burrservice.com.
