Joseph "Joe" Demulling passed away suddenly and peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the age of 70. He was able to feel the love of those around him and he is now pain free.
Joe was born on June 17, 1953 to Clarence "Kelly" and Charolette Demulling (Hottinger) in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Joe grew up on the family farm in Star Prairie with his brothers and sister. He could be found causing some sort of trouble with his brothers. Joe went to school in Osceola, left schooling to join the Army. While in the Army he earned his GED. Joe met Judy through a friend, Shirley, and the two later married on September 13th, 1975 and were blessed with two beautiful daughters. He worked at UFE, then moved around to a few jobs before working at Anchor Block as a laborer in North Saint Paul, where he ended up retiring in 2007. He was lucky enough to retire at an early age to allow time for travel and lots of camping. Later, he became a Polk County Supervisor and enjoyed his time there.
For those that knew Joe, you may have known him for his smile, laughter, giving hugs and his joking around, or even joined him in some fun activities. Some of these activities include, softball where we spend many evenings as a pitcher, fishing with always a great story or a stuck hook, but never forgetting his towel, bowling on Tuesday nights with his bowing league and laughing up a storm with his friends, Hunting with his best friend, Del and crew up at the cabin and always losing at cards, Camping with his family and friends, throwing some bean bags round with his daughter, attending many sporting and school activities with his grandkids, helping anyone that he could, whenever they needed it, especially his daughter, volunteering at the VFW, going to family functions and attending community activities where he was always found chatting with someone, sorry if he could not remember your name, but he always remembered your face.
Joe had many sides of him, most of these will be remembered by the endless love of being a caretaker for his family, the colorful language when telling stories, the trying to fix things, then having something always go wrong (he called that the Demulling curse), the big grin he gave with the eyes that would show you and tell you how much he cared about you or when you were supposed to go do something. He loved unconditionally which showed up differently for everyone, a hug, a smile, a handshake or a story. If you met Joe, you are blessed because he left that mark in your heart forever and will be truly missed.
Joe is proceeded in death by his parents, Clarence and Charolette Demulling; his siblings, Frank Demulling, Jim Demulling, Kathy Kloetzke, and John (Debbie) Demulling.
Joe is survived by his wife Judy, daughters Karrie (Erik) Sagness and Kelly Jo Buffington, Grandchildren, Sam, Makiya, Max, Hannah and Alli. Along with lots of family, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Our hearts will be forever blessed that was a part of our lives.
Memorial services will be held for Joe 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2024 at West Immanuel Lutheran Church, 447 180th St, Osceola, WI. Visitation one hour prior. Evening visitation will be the night before, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Grandstrand Funeral Home of Osceola, WI.
