Winslow - Joseph Roland Douin, 91, passed peacefully at the Maine Veterans Home of Augusta, on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, with his two sons and his brother present.

He was born the son of Arthur and Adrienne (Dude) Douin on August 27, 1934, in Augusta, and spent the first part of his childhood there, before moving to Waterville.

After serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict, he worked in Waterville's textile mills before joining LaVerdiere's Super Drug stores. He would work there over 30 years, ultimately becoming the warehouse manager. He loved his job and was an integral part of the company and contributed to its success.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, and his wife of 44 years, Marguerite (Belanger) Douin.

He is survived by his two sons, Alan Douin of Winslow, David Douin and his wife Marylou of Intervale, NH, and his granddaughters Jennifer, of New York City, and Jessica of Intervale, NH. His brother Paul Douin resides in Augusta, along with several of his cousins.

There will be a graveside service at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove Street, Waterville, date to be announced.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville. An online guestbook may be signed, condolences and memories shared at www.gallantfh.com.
