Worked for Abitibi Corp in Chicago and Northern Fabricators in Alpena, Michigan as a Foreman. Former Elder at St Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago Heights and Sunday School Teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Matteson. Husband for 54 years of Virginia nee Thompson. Father of Jennifer (Marshall) Villarreal and Monica (Brian) Steele Sr. Grandfather of Ava Villarreal, Brian (Sara) Steele Jr, Brandon Steele and Brieanna (Nick) Oosting. Great grandfather of Willow Marie Steele and Rayna Geraldine Oosting. Son of the late Marian nee Matson and Joseph D. Ehrich Sr. Brother of the late Haldon (Sima) Ehrich. Brother in-law of Martha Sauer, Wendall (late Dorothy) Thompson, Lila (Steve) White and the late Allan Thompson. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friend of many. Lying in state at St Paul Lutheran Church, 330 West Highland (10th Street and Ashland Ave), Chicago Heights on Wednesday January 31, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Services 12:00 Noon. Burial St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Flossmoor.
