Obituary published on Legacy.com by River Woods Funeral Chapels - Des Plaines on Sep. 10, 2024.
It is with a heavy heart to announce Joey Eli, age 26, passed away unexpectedly on
Monday, September 2nd, 2024. He was born September 21st, 1997 to Colleen Sattler
and Cory Eli. Joe was a once in a lifetime kinda man. One of the ones you wish could
physically live forever. Those who he blessed his presence with, will be relentlessly
touched by his kind old soul. Joe always put others before himself. He was there for
a shoulder to cry on, a man with advice of any nature, buddy to always lend a
helping hand and a profoundly admired family member.
Joe enjoyed the little things in life, like finding humor in every word he spoke, a
simple airy night around the fire; surrounded by friends and family (with a side of
his quick witty attitude) or brightening your day with one of his famous story telling
jokes. With dedication and a lot of scars to prove it, (with a few teachers along the
way) he emerged into an ingenious mechanic always willing to help without
hesitation. He cared so deeply for his family and friends that became his blood... He
found his inner tranquility with the outdoors. Whether that was fishing, hiking,
boating, going to the range, riding his Harley Davidson, camping or going for a cruise
in the truck on some backcountry roads.
Being in the wilderness was one of his sanities of life itself.
Joe has gifted us with a treasure chest full of memories. His body may not be
present any longer, but his spirit and love will forever be walking by our sides, his
strong sound of laughter ringing in our ears. His strength, to help us get up when
our knees buckle and those jokes (that only Joe could tell right) bring pain to your
stomach from laughter. Joe's time on this earth has made a lasting impression
across the nation, to so many souls...
This isn't goodbye my friend, but only I'll see you later...
