Joseph Daniel Flynn, age 80, passed away on March 9, 2024 in Vero Beach, Florida.
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and resided in Vero Beach, Fl. since 1992. Prior to that he lived in Weymouth, Ma.
Jospeh retired from the Quincy Ship Yard in Quincy, Ma. In life, Joseph had a variety of jobs which he excelled in and could be considered the 'jack of all trades'.
Joseph was a member of St. Helens Catholic Church in Vero Beach, Fl.
He loved the Boston Red Sox & the Patriots, stayed up on current affairs, took long road trips, telling stories of the old days, watching Gunsmoke, and most importantly being with family. His favorite places were Fenway Park and Dunkin Donuts. Celebrating the holidays became a passion. Christmas Eve and St. Patrick's Day were his favorite. He would always decorate his house as bright as he could.
Survivors include his children Joseph Flynn, Daniel Flynn, James Flynn, Shaun Flynn, Kelley Anne Vallee (Peter), Brian Flynn, Kathleen Flynn, and Matthew Flynn; sisters Mary Ann Flynn, Kate Corsaro; sister-in-law Mary Ann Tierney (Tim); nephews Shane Tierney, Kevin Kenny, and Tommy Kelley; grandchildren Hallie & Taryn, Christopher Flynn, Patrick Flynn, and Catherine Vallee.
Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen M. Flynn of 54 years. She was his first and only love whom happened to be the sister to his best friend James. We also remember his son Dennis Flynn, his sister Joan Corsaro, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Cheverie.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date and time determined by the family, in Massachusetts.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Red Sox Jimmy Fund.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
