Joseph W. "Joe" Fotenos, 80, of Marceline, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital in Macon. Joe was born on August 29, 1945, in San Francisco, California, the son of Steve and Laura Mae (Finney) Fotenos. He was a 1963 graduate of Marceline High School. On October 24, 1972, he was united in marriage to Susan Kennedy in Brookfield, Missouri, and she survives of the home. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he owned and operated a liquor store in Marceline for many years, where he was well-known and respected in the community. Joe was a lifetime member of the VFW, Masonic Lodge, Eagles, and Shriners. He also served his community as a Marceline City Council Member for many years and as Mayor of Marceline for one term. Joe enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Susan of the home; two sons, Steven Fotenos of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Douglas Fotenos (Katie) of Marceline, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cole and Alaina Fotenos, Alison Phillips (Garrett), and Nicholas Fotenos; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Brady, Stevie, and Claire Phillips; one brother, John Fotenos (Chrys) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cia Buxani. Joe's wishes were for cremation, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Wreaths Across America and can be sent in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, Missouri.
