Joseph Henry Greenwell
I am sure it is a great surprise to everyone that knew me I have graduated into Heaven. This is also a surprise to me. I left this world as I knew it on April 27, 2023.
I was raised in the quaint little town of New Haven in the fifties. I was a holy terror to almost all that knew me especially the nuns and priests at St Catherine. Mysteriously, I graduated from Bardstown High School after "trying" two other high schools. Then, I was asked by Uncle Sam to join the Marines where I explored the jungles of Southeast Asia with a radio and the Korean Marines. Upon completion of my military service I found myself at WKU, where I met the love of my life, Judy Groves. This union brought our son Joseph Jacob. I had many adventures in Frankfort, where I was a computer specialist for KY Health Services. After this we moved on to Louisville. I worked with the US Census Bureau asking people questions they did not want to answer. My final move was to my wife's hometown, Hodgenville. Our son married Sarah and they produced the light of my life, Joseph Brennan. He is without a doubt my shining star.
My memorial service will be at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff on May 10 at 1:30pm. Please attend if you want proof that I am gone.
If you are ever around New Haven and ask for Joe Greenwell the answer will be "which one".
Memorial gifts can be made to the Marine Corp Toys for Tots, Tonia Freeman, 673 Knox Blvd, Suite D, Radcliff, KY 40160.
