Joseph Daniel Harris, 31, of Austin passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. He was born on April 8, 1991 in Seguin to Susan DeBerry and Paul Kevin Harris. Joseph was raised in Gonzales by his parents, Susan and Paul. The family were members of Eastside Baptist Church. Joseph was an only child, and he was cherished dearly by his family. He enjoyed summers with his grandparents and cousin TJ. Joseph loved basketball, kickboxing, music, and time with his friends. As a child he loved 90's cartoons, which grew into a broader love of stand-up and other comedies. From a young age, he developed the skill to make everyone around him laugh.
Joseph graduated from Gonzales High School and went on to receive his associate degree in mechanical fabrication and welding from TSTC in Waco, TX. Joseph returned to Gonzales to work at Gonzales Manufacturing where he greatly enjoyed his work building industrial boilers and learning from his early mentors. He met his wife Hailey, also from Gonzales, during this period.
Joseph and Hailey moved to Austin so she could attend college and to further his career. They decided to make Austin their home where they spent many years with Joseph's beloved Great Danes, Odin and Zoe. The couple married on February 12, 2021, in Austin.
Joseph loved his work and mastered many skills in his trade. He grew his career at AirCo Mechanical under new mentors, and he made many lasting friendships. He liked to spend time at home with Hailey and the dogs where he enjoyed cooking, watching his favorite movies, shows and comedies, and playing the blues and Spanish guitar. He loved to participate in many athletic hobbies including strength training, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, hiking, and mountain biking.
Although he was somewhat of a homebody, Joseph loved an adventure and to travel. He frequented attended live music shows and greatly enjoyed music festivals. He cherished his friendships and experienced great joy in making others laugh. Joseph was a kind and genuine person who greatly impacted the lives of people who knew him. His absence is now and will always be deeply felt by those who loved him.
