Joseph P. Iannacone, age 92, of Bucks County, PA, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025. Born on August 5, 1932, in Philadelphia to Nicandro and Catherine Iannacone, Joe was the middle brother of seven boys. He was predeceased by Carmen, Michael, and Nicandro and is survived by Albert, George, and Anthony. He attended Our Lady of Pompeii Grade School and graduated from North Catholic High School, Class of 1950.
Joe proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received a Marksman (Rifle) Badge and was Honorably Discharged. After his military service, he worked as a master machinist for RCA and Arch Manufacturing in Camden, NJ. One of his proudest achievements was contributing to the fabrication of the lunar rover communication antenna-now resting on the surface of the moon.
Joe was the beloved husband of the late Carol Iannacone (Paciolla), with whom he shared 56 loving years. He is survived by his devoted children: Karyn Cirigliano (Tony), Kristine Iannacone, and Joseph M. Iannacone (Kelli). He was a cherished grandfather to Kristin Clark (Chris), Anthony Cirigliano (Melissa), Joseph Iannacone (Shannon), Dayna Lauser (Dylan), Angela Tillman and Grace Iannacone, and a proud great-grandfather to Christopher, Nicolette, Francesca, Vincent, Lucas, Theo, Noelle and Benjamin.
A true Philadelphian, Joe loved his city and its sports teams, especially the Eagles. He reveled in their two Super Bowl victories and often reminisced about the championship seasons of 1948, 1949 and 1960.
After settling in Northeast Philadelphia, Joe enjoyed a vibrant social life-golfing with friends and hosting Sunday afternoon barbecues on Tremont Street. He found great joy in trips to the Jersey Shore, from the Ocean Towers in Wildwood to visits with family in Ocean City and Brigantine.
Family celebrations were Joe's favorite occasions. He was known for relaxing poolside with a cigar and bourbon, surrounded by laughter and love during the annual birthday Crab Fest-a cherished tradition that brought together not only relatives but lifelong friends who had become family. He often shared stories of his youth spent with the "No. 9 Gang", a tight-knit group of friends from 6th and Pike who remained close into their eighties.
Joe and Carol are now reunited in eternal rest. Their unwavering devotion to family and deep love for one another will live on in the hearts of all who knew them.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Assumption BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Road, Feasterville, PA 19053, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Entombment Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family gratefully acknowledges memorial donations made to: Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
