Joseph John Jimenez III, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, was called to his heavenly home on August 6, 2025, at the age of 62. He passed peacefully and was surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 15, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Joseph was the beloved son of Barbara De Salvo Jimenez and the late Joseph Jimenez Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Marshia Richthofen, and their loving children: Joseph John Jimenez, IV, (fiancé Leah Miquel), Braylen Jimenez, Patricia, and Brittany Richthofen. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Laurie Jimenez Lopez (Kevin), and beloved brother, Shane Jimenez, as well as his adoring mother, Barbara De Salvo Jimenez. He is also survived by his aunt Jerrie Protti and Uncle Vincent De Salvo as well as special cousins, Vinnie and Olivia De Salvo, Christine Protti Landes and Russell Protti, and nephew, Christopher Farmer. He is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Joseph was deeply loved by all who knew him. He loved family gatherings and treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Beulah and Vincent De Salvo, with whom he shared a strong bond having worked together as the Manager of Vince's Seafood Corporation in Gretna for over 30 years. After changing careers, he became an esteemed employee at Blue Marine, Inc.
He found joy in simple pleasures- a great fan of the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. He was affectionately known as "Coach Joe" at Gretna Park, where he volunteered to coach Little League and shared his love of sports. His enthusiasm left an indelible mark on all who benefited from his knowledge and guidance. He also enjoyed traveling and visiting friends around the country and trying out different restaurants. He was also an excellent chef and enjoyed cooking and hosting family events.
He was a proud graduate of John Ehret High and a member of St. Cletus Church Fair Committee, as well as Knights of Columbus in Gretna, where he forged lifelong friendships and made a meaningful impact on his community. Joseph was a lifelong resident of Gretna and has resided in Marrero for the past 20 years.
