It is with great sorrow that we are announcing the passing of Joseph Martin Kruppa on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, he was 87 years old.
He was the loving husband of 63 years to Shirley Kruppa; loving father to, Linda (Ken) Montgomery, Lisa (Derrick) Forchetti and David (Rachel) Kruppa. Joe was a beloved grandfather to ten beautiful grandchildren: Krystina (Chad) Van Atta, Joey Forchetti, Olivia Forchetti, Sam Forchetti, Trevor Montgomery, Joshua Kruppa, Claire Forchetti, Sarah Montgomery, Lauren Kruppa and Anna Kruppa; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Gibson, Chayse Van Atta and Camdyn Van Atta, all who truly adored him. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Polesky and sister-in-law, Ann Kruppa.
In addition to his parents, John M. Kruppa and Anna (Pavlov) Kruppa; he is preceded in death by his brother, John P. Kruppa; sister, Theresa Kudra; brothers-in-law Alex Kudra and Fred Polesky.
Born in Adamsburg, PA, Joe spent his childhood growing up in Western Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Bentleyville High School in 1956. After graduation he moved to Northwest Indiana where he worked at U.S. Steel and met Shirley. He continued to be a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan, cheering on his beloved Steelers and all Penn State athletics. Joe spent his career in the commercial glass business, working several years at Glass Service and Chicago Heights Glass where he retired in 2003.
Joe proudly served in the Army as a radio specialist in Germany and France from 1961 through 1963.
Friends and family are welcome for visitation at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger, IN from 9:30 to 10:30am, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately afterwards. Interment will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN.
