Repose en Paix

In Loving Memory of Joseph Louissaint
April 11, 1943 – August 2, 2025

Joseph Louissaint, lovingly known to friends and family as "Joe," was born on April 11, 1943, in Arcahaie, Haiti, to Sofia Louissaint and Gelin Chery.

From the moment he entered the world, he carried charm in his smile, rhythm in his soul, and enough presence to make life unforgettable.

In 1975, Joe left Haiti in search of a better life for his family. He believed deeply in the power of education and worked tirelessly to ensure his children had opportunities he could only dream of. For many years, he worked as a private independent driver with Hummingbird in Brooklyn, New York braving freezing winters, long hours, and bustling city streets with grit and determination.

It wasn't just work to him it was his way of providing for and protecting the family he loved so deeply. He wasn't just a provider he was a force. A father, brother, grandfather, and a man who could talk his way into just about anything especially with the ladies. Joe was known as a charmer a true ladies' man-whose charisma could light up any room. Tall, dark, and handsome, when he walked into a space, you couldn't help but take a second look. His swag was unmatched. He loved his country, Haiti, and Kompa music was in his DNA.

He is survived by Marie Elvire Louissaint. His children: Marie Gelin Louissaint-Vernet, Clermose Louissaint, Joseph Gelin Junior Louissaint, Roseph Louissaint, Jackie Louissaint-Bois, Josue Gelin Louissaint, Johnny Gedeon Louissaint, Jaysha Louissaint-Jean, Clarence Xavier Louissaint, and Aser Gregory Louissaint. His grandchildren: Stacey Stash LaMarre, Hakim Lamartine LaMarre, Porsha Ormil, Princeton Jean, Derrick Vernet, Clarence D. Felix, Clifford Michel Thevenin, Clay Joseph Thevenin, Bianca Virginia Bois, Brandy Allene Brunache, Briancé Alanda Brunache, Brianna Jackie Bois, Mi'King Jackie Brunache, Princeton Jackie Bois, and Xavier Louissaint and his great-grandson: Calel Felix. Joe is also survived by his older sister Yolande Haïs, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

If you knew Joe, you knew he could turn an ordinary afternoon into a story worth telling for years. He lived boldly, loved freely, and left behind memories that made him a legend-a true king.

As we celebrate his life, we imagine him now-dancing in Heaven, flashing that unforgettable smile. Dance in peace, King. You've earned it.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 9:00am to 10:00am in the Southeast Funeral Home, 93 Center St. Easton, MA 02356. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am in the Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Melrose Cemetery 88 North Pearl St., Brockton, MA, 02301. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
