Joseph Wilbur Lowery, of Palos Heights, IL. Husband, father, lifelong tradesman and United States Marine Corps veteran passed away on October 17, 2024, at the age of 93, what would have been his 65th wedding anniversary.
Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Shirley, his parents, John & Margaret Lowery and Wilbur Cranley, his siblings Margaret, Barbara, Loretta, Thomas, William, and John. He is survived by his sister Patricia Haffner and his children: Margaret (Robert) Riniker, William (Gina) Lowery, Joseph (Rebecca) Lowery, Patrick (Alice) Lowery, Kathleen (Joseph) Quinn and Elizabeth Lowery and Grandchildren: Conor, Meghan, Grace, Kate, Patrick, Ruth, Irene, Molly, Joe, Matt, and James.
Joe was a lifelong member of Chicago Local 67 Tile Setters (BAC Local 21). He enjoyed spending time with his family, teaching his sons the tile business, stamp and coin collecting, volunteering his time to the Catholic Charities, traveling, and watching any sport, especially the Cubs. He was generous, patient, kind and was always a willing to help family or friends. Joe was an active member of the Catholic Church and a proud graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.
