Joseph J. Maciejewski
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, devoted family man and hardworking individual, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Bay County Medical Care Facility. He was 80 years old.
Born on March 23, 1945, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Chester and Genevieve (Glaza) Maciejewski, Joseph graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1963. He married the love of his life, Marcia A. Graczyk, on August 21, 1965, at St. Hyacinth Church. Together, they built a life filled with love and dedication.
Joseph proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era in 1966. After his military service, he worked at Defoe Ship Building for many years before joining the City of Bay City's Water Department, where he worked from 1973 to 1993.
A man of faith, Joseph was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and tackling various projects around the house. Known for his ability to fix anything, Joseph was a perfectionist in all his endeavors. For 20 years, he also provided TV repair services from his home.
Joseph was an excellent cook and a dedicated Detroit Lions fan. His love for his family and the time he spent with them were the cornerstones of his life.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia, two daughters Joelle (Gregory) Katt and Kristie Maciejewski, three grandchildren: Erika Katt, Samuel Katt, and Ethan Boeck, sister Marian Kontranowski, brother-in-law Mark Graczyk, and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his parents Chester and Genevieve, two brothers Gerard Maciejewski and Chester (Peggy) Maciejewski, Jr., sister Janine (Ronald) Schmitz, and two brothers-in-law Robert (Darlene) Graczyk and James Kontranowski.
In accordance with Joseph's wish, cremation will take place. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church 1515 Cass Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Family and friends will gather at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Fr. Nicholas Coffaro will celebrate Mass. Military Honors, under the auspices of the US Army will immediately follow Mass outside of church. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to make memorial donations to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish or the Humane Society of Bay County. ambrosefuneralchapel.com
