Joseph "Man" Thornton, age 50, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at his home under the care of Coastal Hospice. Man was born in Glennwood on August 22, 1975, to Horace and Gail Hughes Thornton, Jr. and had lived in Jeff Davis County most of his life. Man was a 1993 graduate of Jeff Davis County High School and was truck driver for 25 plus years. He enjoyed fishing and was of the Pentecostal Faith.
Joseph is preceded in death by is father. He is survived by his mother, Gail Thornton of Hazlehurst; his son, Brody Thornton of Douglas; sister and brother-in-law, Jody and Stanley Wilson of Hazlehurst; nieces and nephew, Cherish McCall and Jonah (Hope) Wilson; grandson, Bentley Thornton.
The family is honoring Man's wishes and there will be no public services.
Low Country Cremation and Burial have the honor to serve the Thornton family.
