Joseph Marso Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Osborne-Williams Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. on Oct. 1, 2025.
Joseph "Joe" Marso, a beloved husband and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 11th, 2025. He was born on December 7th, 1936, in Sharon, PA. His childhood was filled with laughter, family, and a cadre of wonderful dogs. At 18, he entered the Army and served in the 82nd Airborne. He went on to open Joe's Clip Joint, a local hangout and barber shop that welcomed all.
Joseph was a principled man who would fight to do the right thing. He loved nature, hard work, and animals, big and small. Joe spent most of his life living in his cabin in the woods with his wife and love life, Doris. As an avid gardener, he always maintained a beautiful vegetable garden. Fitness was very important to Joseph, as a young man who used to ride his bike back and forth from Greenville to Conneaut Lake for fun and used a push mower to maintain his land well into his late 70s.
Joe was a staunch advocate for the rights of others, and he led a life of service. As the owner of Joe's Clip Joint in Sharon, his barber shop was a home for anyone who needed a place, he welcomed all without question. When he retired his shears, he went on to work with the mentally handicapped, mentoring and training young adults to help them gain a level of autonomy through employment. Joseph spent years working with people whom others would not give a moment to. He was known to his family and those he worked with as Papa Joe.
Joseph Marso is survived by his wife of 60 years Doris Marso, his daughter Linda Gregg (Alan), and his grandson Parker Weinthal.
