Joseph Martin

Joseph Martin, 89, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2022. He is survived by his Children: Joe Martin (Cindy), Kim Biggs (Mark), Julie Reynolds; His Brother Louis Martin; Grandchildren: Joey Martin (Harmony), Kristin Biggs;Great-Grandchildren: Naiya, Layton, and Phoebe Martin.
Joe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A true family man. He was a pioneer in the computer programing industry. Albeit it was his profession, he enjoyed telling you how far computer technology has come. Joe loved taking trips to the beach to swim, fish and play bingo. He made friends wherever he went with his down- to- earth personality and his genuine smile. His favorite pastimes wereplaying pool, dominoes (chicken foot) and especially Chinese checkers with Milly while listening to their favorite songs.During retirement Joe enjoyed entertaining his friends with his portable record player, playing classics like, Johnny Mathis, Perry Como, and Frank Sinatra. There was also an occasional bus trip to Cherokee Casino for fun. Joe brought joy to everyone, was a great person, and will be missed by all, who knew him.
Joseph Martin is proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Milly; Grandson: Bradley Martin; Son-in-law: Perry Reynolds; Siblings: Frank, Manny, Phil, Julie, and Carmen.
A Service will be held At Gaskin Funeral Services-14617 B Lawyers Road, Matthews, NC. 28104 on June 18, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. to celebrate the life that Joseph lived. The family will greet friends at the conclusion of the service.
