Joseph Daniel "Dan" McCue

Dan was born in Braddock, PA on June 4, 1965, to the late Bernard "Joe" McCue and the late Agnes "Aggie" McCue. Dan passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis, a recent stroke, and a heart attack.
Dan is survived by his wife and best friend, Barbara (Kim Savoca) and his beloved son, Danny. He is also survived by his devoted sisters, Arlene Gentile (Arthur Gallagher III), Maureen Ondrey (Paul "Bundy"), and the late Collene Tkocs Dubich (Gerald Tkocs) (the late Jack Dubich). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly, Michael Gentile (Melanie), Jeffrey Gentile, Stephen Ondrey, Brian Ondrey (Heather), Joseph Tkocs (Rikki Concannon), John Dubich (Kylie), Ashley, Trista, Taylor, Georgie, Brandon, Jordan, and Kenny; and great nieces and nephews, Emmalynn, Colton, Collene, Gavin, Mila, Mackenzie, Olivia, Dominick, and Gavin.
In addition, Dan is survived by his sisters-in-law, Shari Baum (Ken) and Deborah Hayden (Dan).
Dan started out as a proud Braddock businessman and owner of Comet News. He loved the town and the people of Braddock. He later took a management position with the Pittsburgh Athletic Association until its closing. While working as a manager for Marathon Oil, Giant Eagle recruited Dan to manage the Monroeville GetGo.
After leaving the workforce, Dan became quite the cook by cooking for his son, Danny. He was most famous for his pasta salad, which he lovingly prepared for family picnics and most recently the staff of UPMC East's 6th floor Rehab Unit as a way to thank them for their great care.
Dan was blessed with a generous heart and a warm, compassionate spirit. His smile lit up every room he entered. You couldn't help but like him. Dan always made everyone he met feel special. He was quick to tell a joke or a story to make someone laugh or remember a treasured memory. He was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. Dan would give you his last and never ask to be repaid. His family always came first. His friends were a close second.
Today, Dan would tell you that he loved his son, Danny, more than anything in this world or beyond. He would promise his family, friends, and most especially his son, Danny, that his love would never leave them. Never.
Friends are welcome Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800, where a Blessing Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Dan will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
