Joseph Francis McGoff
December 26, 1961 – June 10, 2025
Joseph Francis McGoff, 63, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025. He was surrounded by the comfort of his loving family in his final moments.
Born and raised in Binghamton, NY, Joe was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, godfather, grandpa, and friend of strength, integrity, and deep devotion to those he loved.
After graduating from Binghamton North High School, Joe then earned his engineering degree from RIT. Over the years, Joe engineered and built the fiber optics and telecommunications in the Southern Tier for several corporations; including News Channels, Time Warner, NHT, and TW Telecom. He then went on to PRG Consulting, where his knowledge and professionalism left a lasting impression.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate, Maria (Lenkiewicz-Lane) McGoff. Together since their teenage years, they spent the most incredible 47 years building a life full of love and laughter. He was a proud and loving father to his children Alexis Whitman (Dave), Brandon McGoff, and Hannah Wegmann (TJ). Joe was so excited to be a grandpa and over the past ten months, his granddaughter Logan Riley lit up his world.
He leaves behind his loving mother-in-law and friend, Kathlein Lane. The youngest of nine, he is survived by his siblings: Michael, Kevin, Kate, Patti, Johnny, Rosemary, and Elaine. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Rosemary McGoff and brother Jimmy, who remained close in his heart. Joe had a special relationship with each of his many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He will forever be remembered for his warm smile and incredible sense of humor. He made everyone feel like family, and was the kind of man who left a lasting mark on every soul he met. Joe lived for his family get togethers, bonfires and his birthday - anything that brought his family and friends together for stories and laughter.
He was proud to have lived his life just as his favorite movie character George Bailey- a selfless man whose life touched countless others, showed that even an ordinary life can be extraordinary, proving it truly is A Wonderful Life.
Family, friends, and others are invited to ST. PAULS CHURCH in Binghamton, NY on Saturday, JUNE 14. Visiting hours will be from 10a.m.- 11:30am with funeral services immediately to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joseph's name to the American Cancer Society, the American Stroke Association, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
