TEWKSBURY: Joseph A. Merrill, age 67, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, formerly of Reading, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Hospital on Saturday evening, November 9, 2024
Born in Reading on May 10, 1957, he was the son of the late Melvin E. Merrill and the late Mary (Beaudoin) Merrill, both of Reading, and was the brother of the late Michael J. Merrill, of Tewksbury.
Joe was raised in Reading, attended Reading schools and graduated from Reading Memorial High School in 1977.
Prior to retiring, Joe was co-owner of the Beaudoin-Merrill Fuel Company of Reading,
From an early start, Joe loved cars and had many old Chevy's and later Corvette's. He also loved Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Family was always first to Joe and his love and loyalty was unmatched.
Joe will be sorely missed by his family and anyone who was lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Jane Merrill-Nangle of Tewksbury and her husband Mark: his sister-in-law, Marlene C. Merrill., of Tewksbury: his nephew, Michael B. Merrill: his nieces, Christina M. Morgado and her husband David Morgado, Jessica Brennan, and Hannah Nangle, all from Tewksbury. He is also survived by his great nephew and niece, Matthew and Riley.
Joe's Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
