Joseph F. Micko of Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11,2025. He was born on January 30, 1943 in Chicago Heights, IL to Joseph John Micko and Anna Solik. He truly loved his family and proved many times that he would do anything and everything for them and was always there to help a friend. He was a surviving twin at birth, preceded in death by his parents, brother John Micko, and sister Patricia Gorecki.
He leaves behind his greatest treasures: his wife of 47 years Kathie Knuth Micko, children, Ann Marie Martin (Dean Bryan), Mary Jo Micko (Brian Bass), Danu Joseph Micko (Nickie Ann Henderson), Shaun Kimberly Jenkins (Eric Lee), his siblings Geraldine Enright, Joan Boyle, and Frank Micko; his most loved grandchildren, Johnathan Barret Lovell (Amanda Cull) Darren Eugene Brown (Andrea Leopard), Matthew Glen Brown (Macie Caple),Kelsey Danielle Micko (Zachary Kearns Klingenberg), Haley Rose Micko (Bishop Jordan Morris), and Joseph Dean Martin (Jaclyn Mackenzie Price), and great grandchildren, Colton and Caden Talley and Emmerson Lovell. He also leaves many dearly loved nieces and nephews and close friends.
Joe served in the U.S. Army until he was medically discharged in 1966. He was a court reporter in Cook County, IL and Ottawa County, MI where he saw many Federal cases through his reporting. He continued Associated Court Reporting firm in Sarasota, FL in 1982, where he served all types of law with his extensive background and determination to assist his clients through difficult journeys.
To honor Joe's wishes, in consideration for the love and concern of his extended family, he asked that there be no services held in Sarasota. We will celebrate his life each time we get together. In lieu of flowers please donate to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society,
