Joseph Miele Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Acton Funeral Home on Dec. 13, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow and love that we share the passing of our beloved father and grandfather Joseph Miele, age 87. He was born on January 30, 1938, in Torre del Greco, Italy, to Vincenzo and Rosa Miele. In 1965, Joseph immigrated to the United States in search of opportunity, carrying with him a strong work ethic and a deep devotion to family.

Joseph settled in Maynard, Massachusetts, where he married his wife of 59 years, Josephine. Together they built a beautiful life and raised a family of six children, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.

Joseph will be remembered most for his sense of humor-he had an unmatched ability to make people laugh until their bellies hurt, especially his beloved brothers and sister. His laughter was contagious, his stories endless, and his presence unforgettable.

A hardworking man, Joseph held numerous jobs throughout his life and proudly worked for many years at Polaroid, where he was respected for his dedication and reliability.

Joseph is survived by his loving children: Roseanna Coleman and her husband Rooney of Wilton CT, Gina Van Natten and her husband Matthew of Morristown NJ, Mario Miele and his wife Tracy of Rutland MA, Angela Chamberland and her husband Jamie of Stow MA, Adriana Geldart and her husband Zachary of Lancaster MA, and Antonella Hart and her husband John of Maynard MA.

He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Grace, Harry, Joseph, Josephine, Matthew, Paul, Thomas, Kathryn, Lauren, Giuliana, Alexander, and Cameron, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Joseph is also survived by his brothers, Michael and Mario, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Josephine, his parents Vincenzo and Rosa, his brothers Nello and Luigi, and his sister Rita.

Joseph's legacy lives on through his family, his laughter, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday, December 15th from 4:00-7:00PM in the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16th at 10:00AM in St. Bridget's Church 1 Percival Street, Maynard. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard.

In lieu of flowers the family asks you make a donation in Joseph's name to the American Lung Association.
