Joseph Andrew Moe, 78, of Rockford died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Wesley Willows Health Center from a long illness. Born April 13, 1936 to Abner and Elsie (Grovdahl) Moe on a farm in Olmsted County, Minnesota. Attended county schools and graduated high school in Rochester, Minnesota. Then joined the United States Air Force and served from 1956 to 1960. He was employed at Chrysler and retired after 31 years, working from 1966 until 1997. He had 2 sons with his first wife, Beverly Meek. He then remarried the love of his life, Eleanor "Mickey" Real in 1985 in Las Vegas. They were married almost 30 years and enjoyed going south to Arizona for the winter. Survived by his wife, Mickey; sons, Philip (Tracie) of Rockford and Thomas of Rochester; stepsons, Mark Real and Matt Real; grandchildren, Stephanie, Ashley and Justin; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ameelya and Zoie; brothers, Luverne (Helen), Stanley (Darleen), Ardeen (Arlene), Daryel (Sylvia), all of Rochester, MN, Merlin of Council Bluffs, IA and Norman (Bonnie) of Las Vegas, NV; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and stepson, Mike Real. Funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. To express online condolences, please visit: www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
