Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cargain Funeral Homes Inc. - Mahopac on Nov. 26, 2024.
Joseph Salvatore Multari, a cherished son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, left this world too soon on November 23, 2024, at the age of 28. Born to a loving family on October 12, 1996, in Mt. Kisco, NY, to adoring parents Fortunato and Filomena (Siciliano) Multari, Joseph was a beacon of creativity, spirituality, and warmth who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Joseph grew up surrounded by love in a close-knit family, including his Nonna Rosa and his late Nonno Giuseppe, as well as his late grandparents Nonno Girolamo and Nonna Francesca Siciliano. His family circle extended to include his Aunt Maria Multari, Aunt Rita (Antonio), Uncle Agostino (Antonella), Aunt Maria Varacalli, Uncle Domenico (Teresa), Uncle Nicola (Anna), Uncle Salvatore, Uncle Joe (Ida), and a village of cousins and extended family members who were more like siblings to him. The loss of his Uncle Domenico, Uncle Nicola, Aunt Concetta, and Cousin Steven Siciliano left a void, but their cherished memories continued to inspire Joseph throughout his life.
Family was the cornerstone of Joseph's life, and he took immense pride in his Italian heritage. He often traveled to Italy to visit relatives, nurturing bonds that transcended distance and time. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with those he loved.
Joseph's strength and resilience was evident from an early age. At the age of 15, he faced a diagnosis of pediatric glioblastoma. He fought with extraordinary courage and determination, overcoming this challenge with the same spirit that defined his life. His successful victory over cancer became a testament to his tenacity, his unshakable will, and his deep desire to continue making a meaningful impact on the world around him.
This resolve and compassion was reflected in all aspects of Joseph's life. His intelligence and caring nature drove him to pursue an education that would allow him to help others. After attending Dutchess Community College, he went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Marist College. At Marist, Joseph's caring nature led him to pursue pre-med courses, with the goal of one day becoming a healthcare professional. His drive to help others extended beyond the classroom - he also completed an EMT course, where he gained life-saving skills and further developed his understanding of how he could make a tangible difference in people's lives. Joseph's pursuit of knowledge was always motivated by his deep empathy and a genuine desire to improve the well-being of others.
As the sole owner of The Arts of Ascension LLC, a new age spirituality Etsy shop, Joseph poured his heart and soul into his business. He was not only a talented artist, but also a gifted Tarot card reader and candle maker. His creativity knew no bounds, and he took great pride in designing, producing, and publishing his own Tarot deck, which became a personal expression of his spiritual insight and artistic vision. His work also extended to crafting beautiful stained-glass boxes, and sewing thoughtful masks, hats, and apparel. Whether through his art or his caring nature, he made the world around him a brighter place and focused on assisting others in healing and finding direction in their lives. In the spirit of Leonardo da Vinci, who said, "Art is never finished, only abandoned," Joseph embodied the pursuit of continual growth. He was always evolving, always refining his craft, and always giving a part of himself through his work. Beyond his art, Joseph had a diverse range of interests. An avid gamer, he found joy in connecting with friends online and was always the driving force behind family game nights, arriving with his trusty tote bag packed with card and board games to share with his cousins.
Joseph's legacy is one of love, artistry, and a profound connection to his roots. He was a guiding light in the lives of others, generously giving his attention and energy through Tarot card readings to help others with their most pressing questions. His primary focus in readings was to help individuals find the path of least resistance and find alignment with their true selves. Though his departure from this world leaves a void in our hearts, his kind spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were lucky to have known him.
Joseph will be deeply missed, but his legacy will endure through the stories, the art, and the love he shared with us all. The family would like to thank everyone for the love, concern and understanding at this difficult time.
