Joseph W. Murawski, 85, went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2023.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Irene Murawski.
Joseph leaves behind his best friend and wife, Beverly; sons, Joseph (Julie) Murawski, Thomas (Alesia) Murawski, Michael Evans and Rodger (Tracy) Evans; six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; brothers, Frank (Pat), Thaddeus (Donna) and Anthony (Robin); nieces and nephews.
Joseph loved his family deeply.
From his time in the Marines, where, as an honor graduate, he was awarded the Dress Blues, Joseph excelled in various pursuits and endeavors. After attending Northwestern University, he started working in Accounting with Brunswick Corporation progressing to work in the division associated with the space program. Though he was never one to toot his own horn, Joseph was a consummate professional as a businessman. He was a focused achiever and problem solver, eventually concluding his business career as the Director of Operations for Mapa Pioneer in Willard, Ohio.
After retiring from the business world, he and Beverly relocated to Maumelle, Arkansas. There Joseph became involved in the STEP Ministry program, North Little Rock, a ministry dedicated to mentoring and tutoring under-resourced youth. He started participating in the STEP Encourager Program, fell in love with helping kids and became more involved with the different programs at STEP, joining the Board of Directors and then becoming the ministry’s Executive Director for ten years.
While he had religious upbringing, Joseph’s faith in Christ was renewed and truly demonstrated later in his life through the gentleness, love and compassion he showed toward others. A humble and modest man by example, Joseph would be the first to give the glory and honor to God for his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial s may be made to STEP Ministry, 601 East 19th Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114 or online at www.stepministries.org
