Joseph Earl Newland, born on August 24, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, departed this life peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 76. A dedicated family man, Joseph was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather whose warmth and kindness will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, enlisting on October 7, 1969, and receiving an honorable discharge on October 14, 1970. After his military service, he pursued a fulfilling career as a machinist, dedicating 19 years at Gardner Denver Company and 19 years with the City of Dallas Water Utilities, where he contributed his skills and expertise. Joseph's work ethic and devotion to providing for his family was unmatched.
He married the love of his life, Alita, on November 26, 1971, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Joseph was a devoted father to his three children: Shawn Newland and his wife, Molly, Jason Newland and Crystal Newland. His legacy extends to his grandchildren, Paisley, Hailey and Bailey Newland, he is also survived by his sister, Lisa Cadenhead and several nieces and nephews.
Joseph Earl Newland had a zest for life that was evident in the simple pleasures he enjoyed. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, eagerly sharing his passion for fishing and caring for his yard. He found joy in going to the ocean and watching football, gatherings that brought his family together in laughter and love.
In this time of sorrow, Joseph Earl Newland's family asks for your prayers and support as they celebrate the life and legacy of a remarkable man who touched the hearts of many. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and memories will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Newland and Joy Williams Newland as well as sisters, Darlene Newland, Lina Darlene Newland.
