Joseph R. Nickles, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his residence.
Born on May 22, 1946, in Bethlehem, Joseph was the son of the late Frank J. Nickles and Rachel A. (Orlando) Kukor. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Agnes M. (Wechsler) Nickles, with whom he shared a devoted life.
Joseph worked for many years with Bethlehem Fabricators and was a proud member of Shopmen Ironworkers Local Union No. 502, a reflection of his strong work ethic and commitment to his trade. He later continued working with ABM Industries, working hard to keep various facilities clean.
A man of simple pleasures, Joseph had a lifelong love of cars and a deep affection for his pets-especially his cherished dog, Emerald, who remained a constant companion. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
He is survived by his brother, Edward Nickles and his wife, Mary Ann; his sister, Christina P. Griffiths; many loving nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Emerald. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Julius Kukor, brothers Rudolph R. Nickles and his wife, Anna, and Frank J. Nickles and his wife, Barbara.
