Joseph Robert Palko

Joseph Robert Palko, 88, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his Harriman, Tenn., home Mon., Feb. 4, 2013. Mr. Palko was a life-long resident of Harriman and World War II veteran. He returned to Harriman, married Peggy Weber, his loving wife of 59 years, and nurtured a beautiful family of five children on the family farm on Webster Pike. He has nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild due in July. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Babinchak Palko; father, Andrew Palko Sr.; brothers Andrew Jr., Aloysius, Mike, Edward, Clement and Frank; and sisters Cecilia, Sister Mary Martin and Sister Mary Michael. Mr. Palko is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons Steve, Mark, Lawrence and Paul; daughter Karen Palko Schulz; and brother Martin. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman with a Rosary at 8 PM. A requiem Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Harriman at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Interment in Palko Cemetery.
