Joseph Pierre, 77, of Newington, passed away on Saturday, June 1,2024 after a long yet courageous battle with cancer.
Joseph was born on November 15, 1946 to Luzana Jean and Terama Pierre in Limbé, Haiti. After Joseph graduated from university in Haiti, he went on to establish prominent careers in teaching, civil engineering, and law. Joseph then moved to Canada to obtain his Master's degree in education.
Joseph was predeceased by his siblings Jocelyn, Oreste, and his twin brother, Josué. Joseph is survived by his children, Guerline, Bob, Barbara and Melissa, and leaves behind grandchildren Natalie and Brandon. In 1994, Joseph married his wife, Marie Pean, in New York. Together, Joseph and Marie have 2 children, Sophia Pierre and Valerie Pierre.
In 2011, Joseph retired and spent most of his time doing what he loved most: taking care of his family, worshipping God, and enjoying karate and western films. He was a member of Three Angels SDA Church for more than 20 years and loved the Lord dearly.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Avenue. Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Three Angels SDA Church, 580 Church Street, Newington, CT. Burial will follow at West Meadow Cemetery, 679 Willard Ave, Newington, where Joseph will be buried next to his twin brother.
