Joseph Allen Remmele, went peacefully to be with the Lord at 12:45 am, August 29, 2025 at Altercare Summit Acres Caldwell Ohio. He was the son of Wilson J. and Oma F. {Elder} Remmele on May 6, 1952 in Marietta, Ohio.
He graduated at St. Thomas Acquinas High School in Louisville, Ohio 1971. Joe was a member of F.O.P. Pioneer City Lodge #12. Marietta, Ohio Joe held several positions within the department from 1974 until his retirement on June 30, 2000 as the Administrative Assistant, Evidence Room Manager, a Tech. Laser Instructor. During his time as an Officer, he was awarded 1991 the Purple Heart, 1993 Patrolman of the Year and 1994 a Valor Award. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and motorcycle riding. He was a Christian by Faith.
Joe is survived by his wife Judy {Lechner} Remmele of nearly 53 years. Sept. 16, 1972. A son
William J. {Jody} Remmele of St. Peters, MO., a daughter Joanna L. Remmele of West Chester, PA, a sister Marilyn S. Landry of Doylestown, Ohio. A nephew Dr. Joseph Landry II{Marcia} of Medina, Ohio, his niece Dr. Melanie Church{ Adam) of Virginia Beach, VA, sister-in-law Sandi Naugle {Bill} and a brother-in-law James Lechner{Melissa) all from Canton, Ohio,.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday (Sept. 2) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home followed by cremation. Family will greet friends before the service from 9 until 11.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Marietta Home Health and Hospice, Marietta Police K-9 Department or the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.
