Audrae Nicole (Pneuman) Remmele, wife of Mark William Remmele, of
Lexington, KY passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, surrounded by family. Beloved wife and mother, Audrae will always be remembered for her commitment to her whole family, loving focus on her children and husband, role as supreme cheerleader for her children, fighting spirit in all things, and ample amounts of sass.
Born in
Lexington, KY on June 28, 1977, she is the daughter of Frederick Bruce Pneuman (deceased), Arlene Pneuman, and Eldred Lewis (Stepfather). She is the sister of: Denise (Stiefel) Chazin, Phillip Stiefel, Angela Pneuman, and Alicia Pneuman. Audrae is the granddaughter of Howard Snyder Sr. (deceased), Catherine "Granny" Scheid (deceased) and William Scheid (deceased).
As a baby, she was introduced to her family as "Nickie." She arrived at her first home in Nicholasville, Ky and soon moved into the country in Jessamine County. At 3 years old, she and her family moved to New Jersey where she got the chance to spend a lot of time with Granny Scheid. In 1987 Nickie and her family moved back to Kentucky. She attended Beaumont Middle School and graduated in 1995 from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School where she was a 4-year member in the Color Guard for the Marching Band. Nicke was also known for her "heavy foot" driving around in her red Mustang. Nickie graduated from Barrett & CO School of Hair Design and then obtained her cosmetology license. She worked as stylist for several years before transitioning to an administrative role in the car sales industry.
Audrae and Mark met as co-workers, began dating and then married on July 22, 2006. Throughout their marriage they enjoyed many trips. As a couple, they vacationed at Biltmore Estate and Cumberland Falls State Park; as they welcomed children, they ventured to Myrtle Beach, Pigeon Forge, Kings Island and Disney World. When the Remmele family wasn't traveling, they prioritized spending time with relatives in Ashland and Versailles and enjoying family game nights at home.
Audrae was an amazing mother, and her passing has left a great void in our hearts. She was the anchor of the house, staying on top of what the children needed, placing their needs before hers. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Austin William Remmele; Alexandra Nicole Remmele; and Wyatt Frederick Remmele.
Audrae loved helping her kids with school projects: one of her favorites was the annual pumpkin decorating contest. She enjoyed playing games, building puzzles, and reading. She was a very proud mom, and she would always brag about her children's awards and accomplishments. She would watch cartoons and firetruck videos with Austin, color and do crafts with Alex, make chocolate chess pieces with Wyatt, and watch his endless amounts of soccer kicks and basketball shots.
Audrae always considered the welfare of her family. She was known for calling, texting, and sending information about product recalls and extreme weather alerts. Audrae was the family historian and the official "date keeper" for all birthdays, occasions, and news. She was without a doubt, the most diligent and persistent of all her siblings when it came to "checking in" on her mother. She called her mother every day and started each phone with the phrase, "Let me ask you a question." When Audrae couldn't join a family gathering, she was notorious for calling at the exact moment her mother sat down for dinner. Her mother ALWAYS answered her calls and it's no secret that Audrae's mother was her best friend.
Audrae had many impactful relationships with extended family members. She enjoyed keeping in touch with them via the phone and social media.
Audrae is survived by her mother-in-law, Linda Remmele; two brothers-in-law, Matthew Ryan Remmele and Steve Chazin; sister-in-law, Barbara Stiefel; and aunt, Carol Pneuman. She is survived by four nephews and six nieces: Jonah Chazin, Erik Chazin, Samuel Chazin, Zachary Stiefel, Morgan Fuller, Cassidy Stiefel, Ondrea Lewis, Emma Wolper, Jenny Stauffer, and Eliana Chazin. She is survived by many extended family members and cousins including Patricia Pneuman Dowden and Voce Edward Pneuman.
Audrae is preceded in death by her loving father-in-law, Robert W "Thumper" Remmele; beloved uncle, Voce Pneuman; maternal aunt and uncle, Kathleen Fensted and Howard Snyder Jr.; and brother-in-law, Steven Reid Remmele.
