Joseph Riley Obituary

Joe loved to be around his loving family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed being involved with their sports and school activities and was always available to them anytime, any day.
Joe and his family traveled and vacationed in Quechee, VT where he owned a second home. His children and grandchildren all learned to ski in Vermont and in the warmer months would love to go to the pool and the beach where they would order their favorite snacks. It was in Vermont where Joe would often relax on his patio and watch the world go by.
After forty years working in the Somerville District Court, he retired as the Assistant Clerk Magistrate.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral mass on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 in Saint Agnes' Church, 30 Medford St., ARLINGTON at 11:30 am. Interment will be private.

Our dad ,Paul Heffernan ,loved Joe. He was kind, hard working and a wonderful clerk. He was a key part of the Somerville District Court and our dad´s friend for many years. Rest in peace Joe and love and prayers from all the Heffernans

I worked at Somerville court with Joe. He had his own way of running
the session,no surprises, keep things moving and empty the courtroom.
He was always upbeat,loved his family and was a dedicated employee.
I was honored to work with Joe on a daily basis.May he now rest in peace.
