Joseph or Joe Ruby, 77, as known by family and friends died November 22, 2021 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA. He was born December 10, 1943 in Ligonier, PA and grew up the fourth of 9 children to the late Joseph E. and Mary J. Ruby. Following school, he served for four years in the United States Navy. He married Joan Grace Kobe with whom he shared 53 years and one daughter.
Joseph retired after many years in the IBEW Local 26 as a master electrician. He was an American Legion member. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Joseph loved God, his country, his family, and his friends. He would help anyone who needed it, without judgement. He was honest, a hard-working perfectionist, and never stopped moving. He could be found building anything, working under a vehicle of any kind, or working the soil.

Daughter: Jennifer Sims (husband Paul Crook), Woodbridge, VA,, Step-daughter: Andrea May Grandchildren: Katherine Kyllonen (husband Landon Kyllonen), Sarah Sims, Adam Sims, and Elizabeth Sims, Woodbridge, VA, Heather Heines, Andrew Heines, and Emma May, Louisville, KY, Sisters: Barbara Ruby, Douglasville, PA, Marjorie Hansen, Colorado Springs, CO, MaryAnn Wilcox, Madeline Kopta, Hadley, PA, Deborah Simcock, Warren, OH, and brother George Ruby, Utica, PA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
