Joseph John Ruggiero Sr., age 81, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2024. Born on November 13, 1942, Joe lived a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Known affectionately as "Chubby or Pops," Joe's presence was larger than life. He brought joy to everyone who knew him, always quick with a smile and a kind word. Joe had a deep passion for family, cooking, gardening, fishing & hunting. He loved spending countless hours nurturing his potted plants and preparing family meals. He also loved to unwind with a good cigar, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
These passions were a testament to his ability to find joy in the little things and to savor every moment. Joe's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of charm, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Leona, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Joe was a devoted father to his children Cathy, Renee, Joey, and Danny, each of whom carry forward his legacy of strength and compassion. Joe was a cherished grandfather to Eddie, Nicole, Brianna, Sean, Trinity, and Jordan. His warmth and wit will be greatly missed by his great-grandchildren Perry, Vada, Issac, Julianna and Juliette.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Joseph's services on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm. at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 1329 Rt. 37 West., Toms River, NJ 08755.
